Thanksgiving

So...Shea's first Thanksgiving was quite adventure. Unfortunately, not in a good way. Lucas had come  home the week before with some kind of virus. After spotting what I thought were a couple of spots on his feet, I took him to the doctor and he was diagnosed with a mild case of Hand Foot and Mouth Disease. He was feeling fine within a couple of days, but over the weekend Phil got a bad case of the stomach flu (which we now think was HFMD manifesting itself in him). Shea spent all weekend creaming, and I couldn't figure out what was wrong until the little dots started to show up all over her. Poor girl!  She looked terrible! Here she is on about day 3:

At this point, we are debating whether or not to take our Thanksgiving trip to El Campo, since she is miserable and we don't want to get anyone else sick. Then, on Tuesday morning, I woke up and told Phil that my fingers were feeling tender. By the end of the day, I had spots busting out all over my hands and feet, and they were PAINFUL!  No wonder Shea was screaming so much!

Thanksgiving trip cancelled, we ran to the grocery store for some pre-made Thanksgiving food and cancelled our trip. Boo!  Since I couldn't really swallow, Thanksgiving was a pretty low key affair at our house. Hah.

We went to the park to swing:

Phil and Lucas played outside:

We wore our cute Thanksgiving clothes and ate our mini-feast:

And the day ended with an awesome rainbow outside. A little reminder that our troubles aren't so big in the grand scheme of things!
