Using a Spoon

Well. We let Shea try using a spoon on her own for the first time a few night ago. It went really well. Sort of.

Sunshine Party

On May 10th, we got up bright and early, put on our party clothes and hosted a Sunshine birthday brunch for Shea!

This was a great way to do a party because I made all the food the night before, and just had to pop the casseroles in the oven the morning of. Also...we were done and everyone was out of the house by 11. Woohoo!

I thought Shea was adorable in her outfit and sunshine bow :)

While we greeted everyone, we all played with balloons :)

Later, there was cake and dessert!

Let's all notice Lucas "ready to help" blow out the candles!!

And there were friends, SO MANY FRIENDS! (Shea LOVED all the people. She is totally my social child).

We played outside since the weather was gorgeous. It was a really wonderful morning and a great way to celebrate one year with our sweet girl!

Birthday Fun

On Shea's actual birthday, we celebrated with just the four of us and had a GREAT time :) When Phil got home, we opened presents. Her big gift was a tent and tunnel set that the kids have had a super time playing with already:

She also got a Violet from her Hlavaty grandparents, an outfit from her Mimi and Papa, and this cool shirt from her Aunt Ann:

For dinner, just like we did for Lucas's 1st birthday, we had spaghetti. As you may be able to tell, she enjoyed it. A lot.

We followed it up with cake, of course. This time, bundtlets from Nothing Bundt Cakes. YUM! Shea took great notes at her bestie Ella's first birthday and ate her cake the exact same way. No hands. Just face. Big brother got in on the act, too :)

And...the aftermath. Needless to say, baths were had by all to end the day. I hope Shea enjoyed her big day. If the smiles are any indication, it was a success!!!!

One Year Old!

Y'all, I am SOOO behind. Again. Sorry!

So, Shea turned 1 on May 9th. Yay!  Such a big girl! The second half of her first year has really flown by, and she has grown up so much. She is saying several words now, uses two or three signs, has four adorable teeth, loves to be outside and get dirty - unlike her neat nick brother - can't go anywhere without one of her lovies, still loves music, dancing and singing, loves her Daddy time at Gymboree, follows her brother everywhere, and loves to eat. Her favorite foods right now are beans and fruits. She thinks the switch to milk from formula is a stupid idea, but she will get over it. At her one year appointment, she weighed in right at 20 lbs., the 35th percentile. She is also a full inch taller than Lucas was at the same age, which was surprising to me, since he seemed so much bigger. (He did outweigh her by 4 pounds, so maybe that was it). She is super healthy other than the seizures, so all is well!  Still no walking, and she seems to show very little interest in trying. She will get there when she decides to, I suppose.

Here are my favorite shots from her crazy 1 year shoot! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHEAFFER JUNE!

Spring Program

Lucas had his Spring Program at GEM Express on May 8th. He did SOOO much better this time than he did at Christmas. (I still don't think performing is really going to be his thing, though). I was proud of him for sticking it out and doing his best (and Shea loved "singing along" with all of the big kids). I have pictures from the big, whole school numbers and video of his class ones. Here's hoping my video links work!

Super happy to see Mommy there!

Now, I'm nervous:

Ok, I will try to sing just a little...

Now, I'm just sad.

Molly told me to GET WITH THE PROGRAM!

So, I did :)

Singing my Spanish colors song.

Taking a bow...

Videos...crossing my fingers :)
