Brotherly Love

So, we had to take the top off of our coffee table because Shea the daredevil wouldn't stop climbing on it.

Aaaannnd...the kids decided to climb in it instead.

Aaaannnd...it was all fun and games until Lucas got a little too rough. As usual.

Welcome to my home.

Cutest Little Horned Frog Ever!

Well, I have a bunch of actually purple and white OUTFITS for Shea to sport as she roots on the Frogs in the upcoming sports seasons, but, really, how could any of those top THIS cuteness she created all on her own?!?!

Drive Drive Drive

Ever since we got Phil Mariocart for Father's Day, he and Lucas have been playing a few races against each other after bath each night. Lucas loves it and is really improving rather rapidly. He still had tantrums when he loses, but we are working on it. It's fun to watch my boys have so much fun playing together (and laughing at me when a make terrible attempts to play myself.) Lucas is SUPER into it, and asks at least twice a day if he will be able to play that night.

Shea has been getting in on the action, too. Right now, she loves to hold the steering wheel and yell "DWIVE! DWIVE!"

Kiwi Crate Wins Again...and Mom Loses

Our July Kiwi Crate had a water theme, and the first craft we did involved coloring on cut outs of fish and sea creatures. Then, Lucas sprayed the paper with water (spray bottle included...his favorite part!). We watched all the colors bleed into one another and create new colors. We also cut strips of paper and put different colors of marker next to each other on the strips. Then we dipped the ends into water and watched the colors change and bleed as the water crept up the paper. Lucas thought this was AWESOME and we did it for three days in a row!  Fun AND educational!

The second project was building a boat. Lucas loved it. A bottle of puffy paint exploded all over mom - face, arms, clothes, so I did not enjoy it QUITE so much. Lost a shirt and barely saved a new pair of shorts. The things I do for my kids :)

Snowcones!

It's summer in Texas and that means it's time for trips to the local snowcone (shaved ice, really) stand!  Shea thought her first one was awesome!  She also enjoyed mommy's and daddy's and Lucas'.

Pinterest Mom Moment

Lucas has been so bored with life at home lately. (HOW MANY MORE WEEKS UNTIL SCHOOL?!?) So, I hopped on my handy dandy Pinterest boards and found this great activity where he matches the lowercase letter on the top of each car with the upper case letter in its "parking spot". He has been working on it every day and improving his lower case letter recognition immensely. Yay, Lucas! (I did have to change the car labels after three days because he just memorized the order in which the cars were parked and stopped looking at the letter. Smart little booger).
