Valentine's Fun

Wow!  I took A LOT of Valentine's pictures this year. (Which is funny because I am not even that big a fan of Valentine's Day...) Anyway. Be prepared for picture overload.

Day 1 of Valentines was actually on the 13th when Lucas had his class Valentine's party. The night before, I finished up his cute Valentine's and gifts for his friends:

Then, on Wednesday morning, we dressed in our Valentine's best for party day. I love the evolution of Shea's patience in the following shots.

So happy in my new dress!

Showing off my bow (thanks, Mimi!)

Ummm...can't we just play with toys instead?

Great Lucas smile!  Shea not interested.

Lucas trying to help. Shea WAY not interested.

Please make it stop, Mommy!

Around lunch, Shea and I headed to the party at school. Lucas's BRAVE teacher served spaghetti, they played games, passed out Valentines and had WAY too much sugar :)

Then, on actually Valentine's Day, the kids woke up to balloons and gifts from Mommy and Daddy. Lucas was very excited about his new Shu Todoroki car, and Shea was more ready to eat than excited about her movie and hairbow :)

Mommy and Daddy weren't forgotten!  I got new charms for my Pandora bracelet and Phil got a piece of artwork. We love LOVE!  Happy Valentine's Day!

One of us may have been more tired than the other during naptime...

Update from the Neurologist

So, I just realized that (although I posted about it on Facebook) I forgot to include an update from our trip to the pediatric neurologist a couple of weeks ago. After waiting for about TWO HOURS in the waiting room (sheesh...), we got to talk with the doctor. He was very nice and basically just asked up to recount to him what had happened during each seizure. He looked in her eyes and tested her reflexes a bit, but did not require us to do any other tests that day.

Her current diagnosis is "gray breath holding spells".  Basically, she holds her breath and causes herself to have a seizure. Right now, they seem to be trauma induced (both times she hit her head just before), so that is what we are on the lookout for on a daily basis. The doctor said almost all kids with breath holding spells are very dramatic and have a temper, and YES, this describes Shea very well. too!

She has had no major seizures since February 3,  but has had a couple of minor ones that we are monitoring because they haven't been related to trauma. We are praying this is something our sweet girl outgrows quickly!  Love you, Shea!

Lucas Quote of the Day

(To the tune of The Farmer In The Dell)...

The mouse in the chili.
The mouse in the chili.
Hi ho there's Cheerios!
The mouse in the chili.

I think that was supposed to be "The mouse ate the cheese..." At least he is sort of listening at school :)

Also, Luas and Shea had an amazing screaming contest at dinner tonight. Initiated by Shea.

Just another day in the Hlavaty household...

Typical...

Typical morning. As I am getting ready...kids in their jammies, on my bed, exploring, wrestling, and playing. LOVE THEM!!!

Ella BDay

A couple of weeks ago, we headed to our favorite friends' house to celebrate Baby Ella's 1st birthday!  How is it even possible for her to be 1 already??? (And, I guess she can't be Baby Ella anymore since she will be a big sister in the summer!!!) Becky and I are always the "official" photographers for each other's kid's birthdays, so I have lots of pictures to share (probably more than any of you care to see!) Happy Birthday Ella Grace!  We love you so much!

Other people's toys are soooo yummy!

Birthday Girl "Ell Grace Banana Face" (as Lucas calls her)

Look at that cute cake!

Sweet Mama

Dad. More. Food.

Lucas loves Ella soooo much.

Cake time!  All time BEST first cake experience.

Exhibit A. She ate only with her mouth. It was awesome. Lucas has been talking about it for WEEKS!

Daddy and daughter.

Lucas "helped" with presents.

Checking out the birthday girl's stash.

When is it my turn?!?

Shea is Nine Months Old

Shea turned nine months old on the 9th!  Wow...that happened FAST! Her personality just continues to come shining out, and we LOVE it :) So, without further ado, the nine month pictures and update:

At nine month she: is crawling much better and further, but still often chooses not to; is pulling up everywhere on everything and starting to try and let go to balance; has been officially diagnosed with breath holding syndrome which has resulted in two seizures; is eating (TONS OF) big girl food and especially loving all types of beans, Greek yogurt, pears, bread, Mum Mums, and cheese; can clearly say a couple of words - baba (bottle, often makin the milk sign simultaneously) and papa being the most common; she also says dada and ryry sometimes (for daddy and Riley); she knows the signs for milk and more; she knows the names of Daddy, Mommy, Lucas, Riley, and Clara and turns to find them when you ask her to; is still taking two naps, but not for very long most days; loves to make piles of stuffed animals in her bed to sleep on; still can't QUITE figure out how to laugh out loud; is most easily comforted by singing, especially "Wheels on the Bus"; has decided baths aren't so great after all; thinks Daddy hangs the moon; moved to a bigger, convertible carseat; enjoys reading books and looking at all the pictures; loves to crawl over to Riley's bed to play with him.

As always, here are some shots from her 9 month animal shoot. She was mostly too busy looking at Daddy and Sesame Street on the tv to check out the camera.

And, the Lucas comparison for the month. (I think they look alike here...)

And some actions shots, just for fun...

These two sure upped the cute quotient at Costco yesterday :)
