One of the first big jealously issues we have run into with Lucas and Shea was over, of all things, the Bumbo. We got it out of the closet a couple of weeks ago so Shea could use it in the pool. Lucas immediately tried to take it over and threw a tantrum when we told him he was too big for it. (Sigh!) I figured that this was not a battle I wanted to spend any effort on, so I got on the phor to a friend and asked if we could borrow theirs. Now everyone has a Bumbo and everyone is happy! (Also notice the cute matching lions. Lucas picked one out for Shea when she was born, so she could have one "just like Lucas"!)

Shea's First Dinner Club
Not long after we were married, Phil and I started a Dinner Club with our friends the Knights and the Whites. We met once a month at rotating houses for dinner, games, and fellowship. Almost 4 years later, some faces have changed, but we are still having a great time with our friends on a monthly basis. Two years ago, dinner club was Lucas's very first event out of the house. We had to keep the tradition going with Shea. Two years ago, Lucas was the first new baby in the group. Now, we have two, the Knights have one, the Lincolns have one with twins on the way, and the Keyes (who have teenagers) get to act as surrogate grandparents to them all :) Here are some pics from last month's dinner at the Lincoln's.
And...just for fun, here is a picture of Chris with Lucas at his first dinner club...she's got this baby thing DOWN!

Just Keep Swimming...
This summer, we have enrolled Lucas (our little waterbug) in swim lessons at Emler Swim School. He and three other kids go to Miss Kerin's class each Monday. Unlike most of the kids his age, Lucas has absolutely ZERO fear of the water. (Hence, the need for swim lessons). In three weeks of lessons, he has already started going underwater and holding his breath for 3 seconds. He loves swimming around in his little noddle boat, kicking with his fins, and standing on the platform in the middle of the pool. One of these weeks, I will get pictures during class, but lately I have been taking that opportunity to feed Shea. Oh well! Here is is getting ready for his first day of class...
Even though we don't have a pool in our neighborhood, we have been having fun in our teeny tiny blow up pool in the backyard. Shea LOVES the water (maybe the only thing she loves), so we look forward to cooling off there (and anywhere else we can swim) for the next few months.
Here are some shots from our first pool day of the summer:

Texas Rangers!
For Phil's birthday back in February, I purchased tickets for he and Lucas to see the Astros and Rangers play a game this summer at the ballpark in Arlington. On Father's Day weekend, the day finally arrived. Lucas could NOT have been more excited! Here they are sporting their gear from their respective teams :)
According to Phil's report, they had a GREAT time. Lucas loved seeing everything at the ballpark, eating his chicken and fries (his favorite eating out food), cotton candy, and Dr. Pepper, and participating in the wave. For a two year old, I am pretty impressed that they stayed into the 8th inning on a Friday night. I think about half the time was spent walking around, but the other half was spent in the seats watching the players come up to bat and clapping when everyone else in the crowd did, too. He got to pick a special souvenir, and came home with a miniature Rangers baseball bat. Now, he plays baseball every day, pretending to hit a ball and run the bases around the couch in our living room. He also brought a little moose home for his baby sister...so sweet!
Now if Phil could just convince him to root for the Astros instead of the Rangers, baseball life in the Hlavaty house would be perfect :)

Fathers Day Celebrations
This year, Phil got to celebrate Father's Day as the Daddy of TWO!
I asked Lucas where if he wanted to take Daddy bowling or golfing for Father's Day, and he picked golf. Surprise! So, we packed up the family and headed to Top Golf in Allen, a really cool driving range with games and food, sort of like a bowling alley. Lucas LOVED it :) (And Daddy had a great time, too, don't worry!)
Here he is checking out his kid sized golf clubs...
It took him a little while to get the hang of swinging with a club that was taller than him, but by the end of the night, our little golfer was cracking balls 30 or 40 yards straight ahead. 2030 Masters, here we come!!!
Shea came, too...here's what she did for most of the day:
Here are my two golfers posing together...so cute!
HAPPY FATHERS DAY! WE LOVE DADDY!
