Lucas: End of School

In all the chaos of having a new baby, I neglected to post about the end of Lucas's school year at Greenville Oaks. Even though we have decided to switch schools next year, I cannot say enough wonderful things about his experience there this year. His teacher, Miss Missy, was wonderful. Lucas LOVED her and still asks just about every day if he gets to go to school and see her. We love you, Missy!

The kids' end of the year program was a Sesame Street theme, and Lucas's class was the Rubber Duckies. I will try to post the (hilarious) video on here when I get a chance. Hardly any of the kids sang, a few squeaked their duckies, and Lucas's best buddy Ryder screamed the WHOLE time. Lucas just looked confused :) But, they were ADORABLE in their duck costumes, so it was all worth it, right?!?

My shy little ducky...

Performance close up.

The whole class. And, by the way, isn't the set awesome?!?

Maybe my favorite...Ryder screaming, Lucas leaning over to check on him, and Harper telling Lucas to FACE FRONT!

Since he has been out of school, Lucas has filled his days with lots of exciting activities, like...

Playing hockey and soccer outside with his new net. (And golf, and baseball, and swinging, and pretty much anything else that can be done outside).

Hanging out with his sister and Baby Ella.

Making cookies with Mimi!

And eating cookie dough!

Generally being an awesome big brother to Shea. (My new favorite pic, by the way!)

Shea is One Month Old!

How did that go by so fast?!? I surely don't remember 30 middle of the night feedings! Anyway...you may remember the month-by-month animal photos that we did for Lucas. I loved those (and the resulting photo book) so much that I wanted to do the same for Shea. We got her two animals of her very own and took the first shots this morning:

She is a little slouchy, but here is the best look at the camera shot:

For comparison, here is Lucas:

Her face is definitely a little fuller, but they actually look pretty similar when she isn't scrunched up :)  Their one month growth stats were virtually identical. Shea weights in at 8 lbs. 11 oz. Lucas was 8 lbs 10.5oz...so, the same). Shea is about 21.5 inches tall. Lucas was 21 inches. This puts her at a healthy 40th percentile all around. Dr. Moulton says she is doing great, and commented once again on how "healthy" her lungs sound. (In other words, LOUD). We are working on moving her over full time to formula, due to my health complications this time around. She seems to be reacting better to the "gentle" formula for now, so we are hoping that she can stay on that once we fully transition.

Here are some more shots from the last couple of weeks at the Hlavaty house...

Super Big Brother Lucas has been AWESOME with his new little sister!

Mom keeps making Shea wear these annoying fabulous hair bows...

Hanging out with big brother at story time.

And, just for fun...we caught almost the same shot of both kids staring down their animals at their one month photo shoots :)
