Last Thursday, we headed to Shea's two week appointment, where all the news was, of course, good! She is completely over her slight case of jaundice (yay!). She also grew a whole pound and a whole inch during her first two weeks of life. She was 7 lbs, 3 oz when we left the hospital; Thursday she was 8 lbs, 2 oz. Whoa! No wonder she has been eating so much! She is also now 20 3/4 inches tall. Go girl! We are starting to get her on an eating/ sleeping schedule, so that is nice. My trip to the ER forced us unexpectedly into bottle feeding, which we are sticking with. I am pumping a few times a day so she gets some breast milk, but it is nice to share the two middle of the night feedings between Phil and myself so we both get a little sleep.
Lucas is really warming up to his little sister. He always wants to know where she is and what she is doing. He is (mostly) trying hard to be a good helper and loves to give her kisses! Here are our newest shots of Shea. The two at the bottom were taken in a dress of mine that my mom gave me. It was a good thing we took them when we did...the dress is almost too small already!
In other family news, Phil heads back to work tomorrow. Wish me luck all on my own! I had the privilege of singing for one last MCA graduation on Friday. It was special to see one of my last classes of 7th graders walk across the stage as young adults. The headmaster/ principal that hired me 8 years ago is heading to a new job in Georgia, so it was also a joy to be there for his farewell. Two Chicks Pix also got to photograph the graduates (at the VERY last minute), so that was a fun (and stressful; right, Becky?!?) challenge for us.
All in all, the Hlavatys are doing pretty well. We will keep you up to date with pics and such as the summer goes on!
