Guess who has been starting to use the potty all on his own?!?!
No official potty training yet; we are waiting until after baby for that. He has just started taking an interest and has been going in his potty about once a day. He is so proud of himself! So much so that, after going the first time, he said "Mommy take picture with camera! Lucas potty!"

Baby Ella
I'm not sure how these cute pics slipped through my blog list. Back in January, our close friends (and Lucas's godparents) Jeremy and Becky welcomed their first baby, Miss Ella Grace Knight. We brought them dinner on their first night home from the hospital, and Lucas finally got to meet "my baby Ewwa." I'm pretty sure he thinks this is his baby sister instead of the one in mom's tummy!
Ever since this first meeting, Lucas has been OBSESSED with Ella. He LOVES her. He asks to go and see her every day; at nighttime when he is laying in bed we hear him talking about her and how he will hold her when he sees her; he put a picture of her up in his room so he can say hi to her every day. It's pretty adorable. I can only hope that he will love his baby sister this much when she shows up in just two short months!

Birthday "Bowlins"
About a month ago, we took Lucas bowling with some Christmas gift cards. He pretty much though it was the coolest thing he had ever done in his life. He has talked about it and pointed it out every time we have driven by there for the last month. So, for his family birthday celebration, we decided to take him back. He loved it! He is getting to be such a big kid and is really exerting his independence. He didn't need ANY help to bowl (so he told us). He almost beat Daddy on the first game (with the help of bumpers and a ramp), but I think his favorite part of the day was his birthday french fries :) Happy birthday, little man. We love you!!!!

Preschool Birthday Celebration
On Thursday, Lucas got to celebrate his big birthday with all his friends at school. I made some chocolate dipped pretzels (with green sprinkles, since it also happened to be "green day" at school), and got to come to the party and to chapel with him. He didn't really seem to know what to do with the fact that I was in class with him. His teachers said he was acting up more than they have ever seen...hmmmm. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day.
Lucas with all his classmates...he was a little embarrassed when they all sang to him and tried to sink under the table. |
