Sprinklers

These are some shots from Lucas's first time playing in the water hose out in the yard. We were watering the new mulch and Lucas got so excited about the hose that we had to take him inside to get him into a swimsuit. I have lots of fond memories of doing the same when I was a kid. Lucas loved it and was so upset when Phil turned off the water and we made him go inside! Lucas is a TOTAL water baby, so get ready for LOTS of summer fun-with-water posts in the upcoming months :)

Dust, Dust, Dust

Well, hard drive #3 is now installed on our computer, and we are up and running again. Hopefully, for good this time. (Knock on wood!) So, get ready for a lot of catch-up posts from the last month or so...lots of summer fun to cover!

Lucas has become a BIG helper in the house lately. He likes to help feed the dogs their dinner, put the laundry in the dryer, "fold" clothes, and, most of all, to DUST. Give this kid the duster, and he will entertain himself for at least half and hour by walking around, poking things and saying, "dus dus dus". I'm not sure how clean anything is getting, but it sure it cute to watch :)  The only downside is that I now have to do the actual dusting when he is asleep since he throws a tantrum if I try to use the duster without him!

GRRRR....Computers!

Once again...I haven't been intentionally ignoring my blog. We got ANOTHER bad hard drive from Dell. They came to replace it this week, and Phil is in the process of restoring our information AGAIN.  Grrrr. I have a list of lots of new posts to do, so get ready for a mass of updates once we are up and ready again!

Happy Birthday to Me!

For my birthday this year, I chose dinner out at Cafe Malaga, a wonderful tapas restaurant in downtown McKinney. The weather was PERFECT, so we got to sit outside on the patio and enjoy springtime in Texas, some good wine, and lots of little plates. Lucas ate everything he tried off of every plate...Phil and I thought we might have to order extra just to fill him up! We followed dinner up with a walk around the square and some birthday gelato (YUM!). All in all, a pretty perfect way to celebrate 32 years! These pics are taken with my fabulous birthday present...my new camera! (Which I got about a month ago and have been loving ever since!)

Sleepy Boy...

Lucas and I were watching his daily pre-nap Jeopardy last week, when I left the room during a commercial to use the restroom. Here is what I found when I returned...

Apparently, it was already naptime :)

Scrapping - Ice Storm, Gymboree, Mommy's Helper

Easter 2011 - Part Two

After our visit from the Easter Bunny, we got all dressed up to go to church. I sang with the choir that morning...mostly to avoid watching myself in the video Tim Morrison roped me into participating in! Seriously, though, it is always cool to sit up in the choir loft and see such a full church! I wish it were like that every week.  By the way...isn't Lucas CUTE in those plaid pants?!?

We came home and put some ribs in the smoker to enjoy that evening. While we waited, we let Lucas go on his first Easter egg hunt. There were only six eggs, and they were filled with Teddy Grahams and Kooshes, but Lucas thought it was great fun! Happy Easter Everyone!

Lucas got so excited that he had to shake and dance with his eggs!

Easter 2011 - Part 1 - The Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny came to visit Lucas this year! Here is the basket he left in Lucas's new chair...

He got a big blue bunny, His Daddy's favorite animated movie (The Incredibles), and lots of fun things to eat and play with.  Like...a little chirping chick that scared Clara to death!

A cool mini basketball hoop that is currently up in the kitchen so Lucas can dunk (or, as he says...DUK!) while I cook dinner.

And did I mention there were PEEPS?!?!

Thanks, Easter Bunny (cough...Mimi) for a SUPER Easter morning!

First Attempts at Scrapping

So, in order to capture all my mommy memories, I am attempting to learn all the ins and outs of digital scrapbooking. You can make some really beautiful things, and it is much faster, cheaper, and less space-consuming that regular scrapbooking. I still have a ton to learn in order to make them look REALLY good, but here are my first two attempts for 2011...
